Sharon Kay Edwards, 58, of West Lafayette formerly of Indianapolis passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Franciscan Health St. Elizabeth East Hospital with her family by her side.
She was born May 18, 1959 in Indianapolis to the late Ralph Boyd and Patricia Ann (Taulman) Edwards.
She was a 1977 graduate of John Marshall High School in Indianapolis. She was passionate about education, not only with her own children, but with her students at the Lafayette School Corporation where she worked as an educator for 15 years.
Sharon was a philanthropist and was always active in fundraising campaigns for programs that were near to her heart. Sharon loved to travel. Her favorite place to visit was Florida but she was always up for a road trip to Brown County, IN or to Mackinanc Island, MI. Sharon cherished the time she spent with her family and friends.
She is survived by 4 children, Douglas (Heath) Eschbaugh of Maple Grove, MN, Morgan Eschbaugh of West Lafayette, Casey Eschbaugh of Lafayette, Meagan Eschbaugh of West Lafayette; a grandchild, due in August; and her sister; Synthia A. Trusty.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sandra Amos and granddaughter, Sofia Eschbaugh.
Visitation will be from 9:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 24, 2019 at Soller-Baker, Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd, Lafayette. Inurnment will follow at a later date at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Indianapolis.
