Sharon J. Vianco, 79, of Lafayette, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at home, surrounded by her family.

She was born December 29, 1943, in Flora, to the late Ernest Levi and Mable Jean (Hamilton) Dunham. She was a graduate of Delphi High School and attended IU Kokomo Extension. On May 9, 1964, she married the love of her life, Jerry L. Vianco in Delphi and he survives. Sharon was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Delphi. She worked as a MPP Correspondent at the State Farm Regional Office for many years.

Sharon dearly loved her family. She enjoyed gardening, reading, traveling, and working word puzzles. She especially enjoyed watching Mark Harmon as “Gibbs” on NCIS.

Along with her husband, Jerry Vianco of Lafayette, she is survived by 3 daughters, Brenda (Daniel) Garza of Lafayette, Theresa (Neil) Wagner of West Lafayette, and Patricia (Tom) Lathrop of Lafayette; a brother, William (Tina) Dunham of Harvest, AL; 7 grandchildren, Alicia Tull, Kristen Campbell, Timothy Wagner, Bethany Wagner, Darren Lathrop, Tyler Lathrop, Kirstin Lathrop; and 2 great-grandchildren, Penelope & Maisie Tull.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Levi and Mable Jean Dunham; brother, Danny Dunham; sister, Christy Fellure; and a son-in-law, Daniel Garza.

Memorial contributions in Sharon’s name may be given to St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 1916 Meharry St., Lafayette, IN 47904.

A private Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at St Lawrence Catholic Church with Father Jeff Martin officiating.

Interment will immediately follow at Meadow View Cemetery in Lafayette.

My prayers go out to those left here on earth. She will be missed. Sharon I remember was a fantastic host. The Thanksgivings together and the reunions and graduations. She always met us with a smile and conversation. My heart felt sympathy to ALL.

So sorry to hear of Sharon’s passing. My prayers are with all the family. She was a sweet step-sister and I truly enjoyed taking to her. God Bless all.

Sharon was a good friend in high school. I will always remember our cheer leading days and slumber parties. She had a ready smile and always went out of her way to help others and was a really good student. She will be missed and fondly remembered.

Our thoughts and love are with the family. Grandma Sharon will forever be loved and remembered.

Brenda, condolences to you and your family; I'm sorry for your loss. I remember growing up your Mom and Dad supporting all of us during sports and school activities. Great memories.

I miss you already, sis. You were, of course, a huge influence on me. I know that I certainly caused more than a fair share of frustration for you, but I always knew you were there for me. Soon we will be able to honor and adore the Father together in joy forever!

Im so sorry to hear this. I've known the Vianco family since I was 4 years old. So many memories of Sharon. I always enjoyed dinner at their house. She was also my Brownie leader.

Jerry- prayers for comfort and peace for you and your family. I enjoyed working with Sharon in “MPP” at the farm. She was a great mentor/mother figure. Sharon kept in touch overs the years with Christmas cards that updated me on the family she was so proud of. I looked forward to those cards. God’s blessings of peace and comfort. Karen Mears
