GySgt. Scott A. Eastman, 58, of Lafayette, formerly of Jacksonville, FL, passed away on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Franciscan Health Lafayette East. He was born May 7, 1963, in Copiague, NY, to the late John and Eleanor ( Erickson) Eastman.
Scott served in the Marine Corps for 26 years retiring in 2008.
On July 2, 2020, he married the love of his life Tammy Stuppy in Lafayette and she survives.
He was a member of Northview Church in West Lafayette. Scott loved to attend church with his wife and the time they spent studying the Bible together. Scott enjoyed the ocean, surfing, cooking, soccer, hockey, motorcycle riding, getting tattoos, shooting guns, morning coffee time and road trips with his wife Tammy. He loved being a husband, father, Pop Pop and watching his kids grow up. Scott was a prankster and was always making everyone laugh. Above all he loved his country and the United States Marine Corps.
Surviving along with his wife Tammy and his service dog Chibbs, his children Cody (Jazmyn) Gere of Atlanta, GA, Andrew Eastman of Las Vegas, NV, Kyle (Kayla) Eastman, Melannie (Justin) Miller all of Jacksonville, FL, Kristina Eastman of Daytona, FL, Samantha Eastman of Florence, AL, Kyle (Kelsey) Stuppy of Lafayette, grandchildren Bellamy, Beckham, Brynlee, Brodie, Noah, Oliver, Greyson, Ashton and Liam. Also surviving are his brothers Steve and Eric Eastman. Scott was preceded in death by brothers Neils and John.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until the time of the service at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with expenses.
