Sara Jo “Corky” Trapp, 71, of Lafayette, died at 6:43 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, at Clarian Arnett Hospital.
She was born April 13, 1939, in Lafayette, to the late Leo and Aline Fischer Farrell. She graduated from St. Francis High School and attended beauty school.
Her first marriage was to Delbert “Pint” Trapp who died in 1959. She then married Robert Palmer. They later divorced.
Mrs. Trapp had been a beautician and then was a cook at Village Restaurant for several years.
She attended St. Mary Cathedral and enjoyed bowling and swimming.
Surviving are a daughter, Tina Palmer of West Lafayette; three sons, Ray Trapp and Mark Trapp (wife: Angela), both of Lafayette, and Gary Palmer of West Lafayette; two sisters, Carol Moelhman of Zephyrhills, Fla., and Janice “”Butch”” Snoeberger of Lafayette; and a brother, Donald “”Dubber”” Farrell of Lafayette.
Also surviving are 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son Ronnie Trapp, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service at 2 p.m. today, Dec. 10, 2010, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Lafayette, with Fr. Jeff Martin officiating. Burial at St. Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers those wishing may contribute to the charity of choice.

Sorry to hear of the passing of your mother. Reading of this reminds me of her standing at the door to the house in Brookston, hurrying you out the door to catch the bus in the mornings. Gary and Tina, I was so sorry to hear of the loss of your mom,Corky. It&s so hard to lose a parent....in the weeks ahead, you will have good days and you will have sad days. There will be a time when you go to call her and then you realize, she&s no longer there to answer the phone, you will see someone that reminds you of her and you will cry but as the days and weeks go by it WILL get better.
