Salud D. “Sally” Faderan, 81, of West Lafayette, IN, died at 6:25 a.m. Friday March 25, 2011, at Seton Specialty Hospital. She was born April 11, 1929, in Batac, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, to the late Canuto and Paulina Ocampo Duque.
She graduated from University of Santo Tomas, Manila, Philippines and received her Masters in elementary education from Indiana University.
On July 23, 1955, she married Nemesio “Don” Faderan in Quezon City, Philippines. He survives.
Mrs. Faderan taught sixth grade at St. Lawrence School, Indianapolis for 15 years and then at St. Sebastian School in Woodside, NY, and retired in 1991. After retirement she tutored children in the Lafayette area.
Mrs. Faderan was a parishioner of The Church of the Blessed Sacrament, a coordinator in Schoenstatt Rosary Campaign, and organized the Block Rosary group, both in Lafayette.
Surviving is a daughter, Mary A. Faderan, West Lafayette; a brother, Fernando Duque (wife: Zenaida), Manila, Philippines; and 2 sisters, Araceli Molina (husband: Juancho), Sorsogon, Philippines, and Lourdes Cas (husband: Demosthenes), Sorsogon, Philippines.
She was preceded in death by 3 children, Vicente, Gregory and Chris.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2011, at Soller-Baker West Lafayette Chapel 1184 Sagamore Parkway West Lafayette. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Tuesday at The Church of the Blessed Sacrament, Fr. David Buckles and Fr. Cajetan Ebuziem officiating. Interment at St. Boniface Cemetery.
