Ruth L. Dawson, 89
Ruth L. Dawson, 89, of Lafayette, died at 9:25 a.m. Sunday, April 25, 2010, at Digby House.
Born Nov. 20, 1920, in Kokomo, she was the daughter of the late Ray and Mae Iliff Massey. She graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School in 1938.
On June 20, 1940, she married Cecil Dale Dawson in Lafayette, and he died on Dec. 2, 1986.
Mrs. Dawson had been a clerk in the Bursar?s Office at Purdue University, and was retired.
She was a member of Congress Street United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed knitting, reading and flower gardening.
Surviving are a daughter, Penny L. Glotzbach (husband: Mike) of Lafayette; a son, Robert Dawson (wife: Myong Suk) of Dale City, Va.; and a sister, Mary Knouff of Deland, Fla.
Also surviving are grandchildren, Caron Glotzbach, Sara Dawson, Mary Dawson and David Dawson. She was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Foust; and a brother, Robert Massey.
Memorial Service 1 p.m. Wednesday at Congress Street United Methodist Church, Pastor Glenda Woodcox officiating. Inurnment at Meadowlawn Memorial Gardens in New Port Richey, Fla.
