Ruth G. Abbott, 98, of Lafayette left her earthly body on Tuesday August 30, 2016 peacefully and without pain. She was born January 16,1918 to the late Edith and Jacob Wampler in Mulberry and was one of 11 children, all girls, and the last surviving sibling. Ruth is survived by her 3 loving children. Sally (Larry) Bateman, Jimmy (Ginger) Abbott and Thomas (Paula) Abbott. She was a loving Grandmother to Will, Patrick, Bart, and Sally Abbott and Great Grandmother to Katlyn, Khloe, and Kane Abbott. Ruth was preceded in death by her ten sisters, her husband, the love of her life, Forest Abbott who died in 1963. Ruth was a lifelong member of Trinity United Methodist church. She lived in the same home that she and Forest purchased 72 years ago. The family wishes to extend its heartfelt thanks to her neighbors especially Larry and Jennifer Danaher, Barbara Clark, and Larry Shields for their many good deeds over the past years as Ruth came to the end of her time with us. She was able to live her life, happily in her home because of your generosity. Visitation will be from 9:30 am until the time of the service at 10:30 am on Friday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Rev. Tracey Leslie officiating.
