Russell Barrick

Russell Barrick, 88, of Lafayette, died at 12:08 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2010, at Methodist Hospital Indianapolis.
He was born Oct. 11, 1921, in Cutler, to the late Russell and Cora Heddrick Barrick. He was in the Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1946.
On Dec. 17, 1944, he married Josephine Mackie in South Carolina, and she survives.
Mr. Barrick was a mechanic for Bill DeFouw Chevrolet and retired in 1977. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 1154.
Surviving with his wife are two sons, Russell Barrick Jr. (wife: Marilyn) and William Barrick (wife: Myrna), both of Lafayette; and a brother, Lewis Barrick of Delphi.
Also surviving are four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a grandson, Curtis Barrick.
Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Friday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., with service there at 1 p.m. Saturday. Burial at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. Those wishing may contribute to the Alzheimer?s Association.

The Barrick Family,

I would like to pass along my condolences for your loss of Russell. I lived across Union Street from you folks in the &60&s. I remember Mr. Barrick as a loving, caring husband and father, someone I respected a great deal in my childhood.

I have thought of all of you whenever I drive past our former homes.

May Russell rest in peace and remain a loving memory in your lives for years to come.

I was very sad to hear that Russ passed away. He was a good man and I have very fond memories of him. Even though I haven&t spoken to him in many years he left a lasting impression on me. Let us all take time to reflect and remember Russ. In loving memory.
