Roy Hatke, 81, of Dayton, IN, passed into heaven May 5 at 2:26 p.m. at home surrounded by his family. He was born August 1, 1939, to the late Art and Lucile Hatke and raised in the Buck Creek and Dayton area.
He married his high school sweetheart, Marietta (Bol) Hatke October 30, 1958. Roy served in the Army 1961-64.
He worked at Fairfield for 28 years taking early retirement to serve the Lord in Christian Appalachia Homes in Inez, KY, with battered women and children.
Upon returning to Dayton, Roy and Marietta started their own business, Jack & Jill Services until retiring in 2011.
Roy and Marietta adopted two wonderful sons, eight foster kids and were privileged to help three great-grandchildren in their early years. He dearly loved all of them and his only desire was to know they would know Jesus so they can join him someday.
He is survived by his wife of 62 ½ years, sons Erick and Joal (Monticello, KY), brother Earl (Tri Cities, WA) half-sister Roberta Ruch, niece Cathy Blosser and several nieces and nephews out of state.
Preceded in death by sister Roberta Blosser, half-sister Anne Dinges and niece Robin Tucek.
A graveside services will be held Saturday May 8, 2021 at 10:00 am at the Wyandotte Cemetery. A Celebration of Life at 11:00 am at Dayton Methodist Church with Pastor Mike Dominic officiating.
