Rosemary Morin

Rosemary Morin would have reached her ninetieth birthday on July 11th. Instead she passed away at the Hospice Unit, University Place in West Lafayette, Sunday, June 3, 2012.
Rosemary was born in Clinton on July 11, 1922, and lived her childhood mostly in Terre Haute. She was born to Fred and Mary Cowan, of Terre Haute. Rosemary attended public schools in Terre Haute, graduating from State High school, in Terre Haute, in 1941. She became a telephone operator for the Bell company in 1941 and continued in that job until 1946 when she gave birth to her first born. Rosemary had married James Morin on June 25, 1941, just a week before he was drafted to go into military service during World War II. They had decided that it would give both of them strength to be married while separated by the War.
When Sergeant Major James Morin came home from the War, Rosemary became his manager and his strength while he was preparing to be a minister in the United Methodist Church. That lasted for six years. In the meantime Rosemary had given birth to Jane Ann and Rebecca Sue Morin. She was a very busy woman.
Rosemary took lots of satisfaction out of being a wife and mother. She did however have a life of her own. She was a Girl Scout Brownie Mom. She belonged to home maker groups, the Women?s Society of her church and home room mom. She belonged to Kappa Kappa Kappa sorority and the Ministers? wives of the Church. She often sang in the choir, but she was most of all practicing super wife and super mom.
Rosemary is survived by her husband; her two daughters, Jane Lewis (husband: Dirk) and Becky Alkire; two granddaughters, Julie Rehwinkel (husband: Scott) and Amanda Martin (husband: Damon); two great-granddaughters, Ava and Addison Rehwinkel.
Rosemary was gregarious and loved to be with family and friends. Her family thanks heaven for knowing and loving her so long.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 7, at University Place, followed by a light lunch. In Lieu of flowers make contributions to the Diabetes Association or University Place Foundation.

Jim- sorry I was not able to stay after the service last Thursday and speak to you. It was a beautiful service. What can I say? I am starting to accept and feel that sorrow does not last forever, but memories do....so does love.
Living alone in the condo was just too painful for me and last week I moved to Westminster - right where I wanted to be - up on the 4th floor looking out at trees and flowers. I feel more at peace than I have for over a year. On the other hand, Saturday would have been Jack&s birthday - so there were a few griefbursts.
Rosie was one of a kind - and I have such nice memories of our dinner together and relaxing in your beautiful apartment. In July when I get back from a 10 days trip up in Michigan with my Ann Arbor family, I want to have you and the Jaegers over.
To quote Anne Wilson Schaef: "" When we need these healing times, there is nothing better than a good long walk. It is amazing how the rhythmic movements of the feet and legs are so intimately attached to cobwebs cleaners in the brain."" This has certainly been therapeutic to me. Yours, PatFessler

Jim, Know that we are thinking of you in this time of transition. We shall always cherish out time with you, your quality leadership and relational manner, also for befriending our son Bill - helping him use your lathe to make candle sticks etc. Bill was young then.
