Rosemary May Wolter Comer, 92, of Lafayette died Monday, August 21, 2017. She was born May 16, 1925 in Lafayette to the late Robert and Gertrude (Heide) Wolter. Rosemary attended Jefferson High School, Huffer Beauty School and received her G.E.D. from Purdue University.
She married Verne L. Comer on October 10, 1942 in Lafayette and he survives.
Rosemary worked at Parke-Davis Pharmaceutical Company and for Hudson Motor Car Company as “Rosie the Riveter”, building P38 fighter planes during World War II. After the war, Rosemary worked for Brown Rubber Company, Purdue University and as a self-employed beautician.
She was a member of First Christian Church, the Merou Grotto and Moose Auxiliaries and a former member of the Tippecanoe County Chorus.
Rosemary enjoyed bowling, swimming, dancing, playing the guitar and singing.
Surviving along with her husband Verne are two sons, Richard (Karen) Comer and David Comer. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Angi Comer and Shane (Kim) Comer; a great granddaughter, Sydnee Comer and many nieces and nephews.
It was Rosemary’s wishes to have no services.
