Rose Mary Himes, 77, of Lafayette, died at 4:19 am Friday, February 21, 2014 at St. Elizabeth East. She was born June 25, 1936, in Robertson County, KY, to the late Jesse Lamoine and Rhoda Orme Wilson. She attended Lafayette Jefferson High School. She married Ernest Himes on Feb. 4, 1956 in Lenoxberg, KY. Rose Mary worked at Loebs and then Purdue University in the School of Management for 23 and a half years retiring in 1994. After retirement she worked at the Factory Card Outlet, as a school crossing guard and delivered for Meals On Wheels. RoseMary was very active in her church, Brady Lane Church of Christ, where she was involved with the women's circle. She enjoyed reading, yard work and helping with the church food pantry. She enjoyed spending time with her family and the grand kids. Surviving along with her husband is a daughter Janice “Jan” M. Johnson of Anderson; a son Duane Himes (Tammy) of Lafayette; a sister Frances Carpenter of Flemingsburg, KY; three brothers Harold Wilson (Martha) of Tompkinsville, KY, Howard Wilson (Faye) of Maysville, KY and Jim Wilson (Martha J.) of Florida; along with seven grandchildren, Brianna Ingram (Travis), Krista and Cameron Himes, Rusty, Danny, Rachel and Victoria Johnson and three great grand children, Aleah and Kali Ingram and Avery Himes. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 pm Monday, February 24, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel. The funeral service will be at 10:00 am Tuesday, February 25 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel 400 Twyckenham Blvd Lafayette, IN 47909 with J. William Overbay officiating. Burial will take place in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Kentucky on Wednesday at 1:00 pm. Memorials can be made to Brady Lane Church of Christ Food Pantry or the National Kidney Foundation of Indiana 911 E 86th St. Suite 100 Indianapolis, IN.
