Ronald Wayne Carter, 71, of Lafayette, passed away at 3:00 PM Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born May 5, 1940, in Lafayette, to the late Ralph Carter and Effie Dexter Nice. He was raised by his loving grandparents William and Ava Carter.
He graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School in 1958.
On July 16, 1961 he married Roberta Jane Buck at Congress Street United Methodist Church in Lafayette and she survives.
Ronald was a supervisor in Treflan at Eli Lilly for 23 years before retiring in 1993.
He enjoyed restoring and showing antique cars, spending time with family and friends, playing cards and spending winters in Florida.
Surviving along with his wife are two daughters Sondra Ash (husband Garth) of Mount Vernon,
Patti Schunk (husband Jim) of Mount Juliet, TN, a brother John W. Carter (wife Linda) of Lafayette and
four grandchildren – Jenae and Bailey Ash and Carter and Carson Schunk.
Friends will be received from 10:00 am Saturday, December 10, until the memorial service at 11:00 am at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel in West Lafayette.
