Roberta J. Connolly, 91, of Lafayette passed away Thursday, December 12, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Central. She was born January 11, 1922, in Lafayette, to the late Floyd and C. Leota Miller Sheets. Roberta graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School and on August 3, 1958 she married Erwin Connolly in Lafayette and he preceded her in death in 1997. Mrs. Connolly worked for the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles retiring in 1982. She previously worked at the Purdue University Airport. She had been a member of Hope Chapter #5 OES and a life member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Surviving is her step daughter Sue Ann Harris husband Bill of Selma, step grandchildren Dirk Harris wife Julie of Muncie, Michael Clevenger of Lafayette, Heidi Matthews husband Larry of Overland Park, KS, step great grandchildren Bret Cantrell, Brandon Clevenger, Jenifer and Andrew Harris, Shelby and Jaelen Matthews, special nieces Jewel Huffines and Janet Hayden both of Lafayette. Roberta was preceded in death by a step daughter Nancy Clevenger and a step great grandson Tyler Cantrell. Visitation will be 2-4 PM Monday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Private burial will be at Spring Vale Cemetery. Memorial contributions to charity of donor's choice.
