Robert Riehle, 85, of Lafayette passed away Tuesday January 29, 2013 at St. Elizabeth East. He was born March 16, 1927, in Lafayette to the late Robert “Fat” and Catherine Kaiser Riehle. He graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School and Purdue University. Robert served in the United States Navy during WWII. On August 9, 1952 married Patricia Covington in Lafayette and she survives. Robert owned and operated Riehle Brothers on Schyler Ave and Big Dipper Slide and Mini Golf at Columbian Park. He also owned AOK Camp Ground. Mr. Riehle was a member of St Lawrence Catholic Church, American Legion and the Elks. He enjoyed watching sports and taking care of his animals. Surviving along with his wife are his children Terri Geraci husband Ben, Bob Riehle wife Barbara, Tom Riehle wife Susan, Tedd Riehle wife Luann, Tim Riehle, Tadd Riehle fiance' Audrey Gibson, 16 grand children and 9 great grand children. Bob was preceded in death by a sister Catherine Ann Riehle and a brother James F. Riehle. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Friday, with a Rosary at 12:30, at St Lawrence Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 PM at St Lawrence Catholic Church, Fr. Matthew Arbuckle officiating. Burial will be at St. Boniface Cemetery. Those wishing may contribute to the Alzheimers Association.
