Robert R. Kelley Jr., 82
Robert R. Kelley Jr., 82, of Lafayette, died at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009, at Home Hospital.
Born June 14, 1927, in Lafayette, he was the son of the late Robert R. Kelley Sr. and Helen M. Phillips Kelley.
He graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School. He served in the Navy from June 26, 1944 to June 9, 1946, and received the combat action ribbon, WWII victory medal, Asiatic-Pacific area ribbon and American area ribbon.
On Sept. 21, 1947, he married Charlotte L. Horn, and she died on Nov. 13, 2001.
Mr. Kelley was a plumber and pipefitter at the Indiana Veterans? Home in West Lafayette.
He was a member of American Legion Post 492, Veterans of Foreign Wars 1154 and 40&8 Voiture, and was an avid fisherman and hunter.
Surviving are a daughter, Helen Davis (husband Dennis) of Lafayette; and two sons, Jack Kelley (wife: Vicki) of Frankfort and Mike Kelley (wife: Cathie) of Sarasota, Fla.
Also surviving are 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Service 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, at Soller-Baker West Lafayette Chapel. Interment at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
