Robert “Bob” R. Davis, 71, of Lafayette, died at 10:49 a.m. Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at St. Elizabeth Central.
Born July 15, 1938, in Covington, he was the son of the late Wallace and Grace Weaver Davis. He attended Montmorenci High School.
On Oct. 19, 1958, he married Lula “Lu” Fultz in Otterbein, and she survives.
Mr. Davis worked construction for Price & Price from 1955 to 1960. Since 1960 he had been a self-employed carpenter in Lafayette.
He was a member of Elston Presbyterian Church, Moose Lodge in Tarpen Springs, Fla., and Eagles Aerie 347 in Lafayette, and was a Golden Eagle.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, music, spending winters in Florida and spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Connie D. Farris (husband: Ed) and Kathy M. Haugen (husband: Paul), both of Lafayette.
Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, Troy Nay (wife: Brandy), Jennifer Moseley (husband: Brandon), Kelsey and Shelby Haugen, Misty Pierce and Erica Farris; and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Duane Davis; and a sister, Barbara Hands.
Visitation 5-8 p.m. Friday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Service 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel. Interment at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. Those wishing may contribute to the American Cancer Society.

You were one of the best uncle&s I have ever had, even though we were not around each other alot we were still close in heart and allways will be. You will be missed very much by everyone but you will allways be in our hearts.

Connie....I was sorry to hear of your father&s death. I know how hard this is....I&ll be thinking about you.

Dear Lu, We cannot be with you at this time in person,
however our hearts and prayers are with all of you.
As our friendship grew in Florida over the past several
years we think of you and and Bob as very special
people. We saw Bob as a hard worker, always having
time to help a friend.He enjoyed life to the fullest
whether it be breakfasts out, looking thru junk shops,
fun loving at get-- togethers, always with a joke or
two, & taking friends to the ""yacht club"". We will also remember the gentle and dedicated side of Bob.
That was when he spoke of you and his daughters and
their families and then his new great granddaughter.
He was so proud and the beam on his face was so
evident of his love. John and I will miss him so
much and John will be lost because he enjoyed all the
times he spent with Bob. There is sadness in our
hearts but the good and happy memories can not be
taken away. Lu, please take care. We send our love

There are no words to express how sorry we are to hear about Bob. I had you both on my mind the other day and should have called you then. I am sorry that I didn&t call.
