Robert N. LaGuire, 81, of Lafayette, IN, died at 6:40 AM Friday, October 10, 2014 at Creasy Springs Health Campus. He was born July 16, 1933, in Lafayette, to the late Harry and Violet Miller LaGuire. On May 31, 1952 he married Bertina J. Wilson and she passed away on February 16, 2012. Robert was employed by Purdue University in building services retiring in 1993. He enjoyed NASCAR, Purdue Sports, Indianapolis Colts, playing horseshoes, cards, traveling, watching movies, and going to museums but he most enjoyed the time he got to spent with his grandchildren, and watching them play sports. Surviving are sons, Harry Robert LaGuire, wife Terri, and James Edwin LaGuire, wife Victoria, daughters, Cynthia Sue Berry, husband Robert, and Mary Lou Jones, all of Lafayette. Surviving siblings are sister, Shirley Ferrell and a brother, David LaGuire. He had eight grandchildren, Melissa LaGuire, Jennifer Sorensen, Scott LaGuire, Jaimi Andrew, Brian LaGuire, Jessica Daniels, Nathan Jones, and Eric Brooks, and 14 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Swindel. Visitation will be Tuesday Oct. 14, 2014 from 11:00AM-1:00PM at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel. Funeral service will be Tuesday, 1:00PM at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel. The Rev. Joseph Park Jr. will officiate. Burial will be at Spring Vale Cemetery. Those wishing may contribute to Lafayette Family YMCA.
