Robert John Kuckartz, 63, of West Lafayette, passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2019 at Franciscan Health Lafayette East. He was born November 30, 1955 in Lafayette to the late John and Leota (Smith) Kuckartz. John was a graduate of William Henry Harrison High School in West Lafayette, class of 1974.  John worked as a heavy highway construction manager at Milestone, Crider & Crider, and White Construction.

John loved spending time with his kids, playing cards, rustling up a home cooked meal, and downing the occasional glass of bourbon. He was the guy you called when you needed something fixed, and his was the loudest, most recognizable laugh in the room.
He is survived by his three children—Zane Seal of Indianapolis, Karlie E. Kuckartz of Bellaire, Michigan, and Johnny K. Kuckartz of Lafayette. Also surviving are grandchildren Xander and Corbin Seal of Indianapolis, ex-wife Julie Christopher of Lafayette, siblings Becky (Jim) Wappes of San Antonio, Texas, Patricia Kuckartz of Tallahassee, Florida, and Kenny (Candy) Kuckartz of Otterbein, along with many nieces and nephews.

John’s life will be celebrated on Friday, December 6, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Ravines Golf Course Club House, 8525 Division Rd., West Lafayette. All are welcome.
