Riley L. Smith, 15, of West Lafayette, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2014 at Riley Hospital For Children from complications of Niemann-Pick Type C Disease. She was born November 14, 1998, in Lafayette, to Trent A. and Julie L. Gillespie Smith of West Lafayette. Riley was a freshman at Harrison High School and a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Center. She was involved with the Tippy Stars and was a huge fan of Purdue women's basketball. Surviving along with her parents are a sister Chandlar Smith and a brother Keaton Smith both of West Lafayette. Riley was preceded in death by a brother Braden A. Smith on October 31, 2006. Visitation will be 4:00 until 8:00 pm Thursday, January 23, 2014 at St Thomas Aquinas Center . A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am Friday, January 24, 2014 at St Thomas Aquinas 535 State St West Lafayette, IN 47906 with Fr. Patrick Baikauskas officiating.
