Richard “Dick” K. Barger, 76, of Dayton, passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at St. Anthony Health Care. He was born September 18, 1941, in Lafayette, to the late Keith and Helen Elliott Barger.
Dick graduated from Stockwell High School in 1959 and attended Ft. Wayne Business College. He was a veteran of the Navy serving for three years. On August 19, 1972, he married Elizabeth Toth in Allen County and she survives. Dick worked at Tate and Lyle for 34 years and retired in 2005. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, golfing and coaching softball.
Surviving along with his wife are his daughters Michele R. (Robert) Darnell of Lafayette, Nicole D. (Scott) Golden of Indianapolis, grandchildren Andrew, Chloe, Grant and Isabella. Also surviving is his brother Darryl L. Barger of Lafayette.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of the service 12:00 pm on Friday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Interment will be at Concord Cemetery in Lafayette.
