Rachel M. Roudebush, 93, of Lafayette, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at the home of her daughter Connie. She was born August 22, 1923, in Lafayette to the late Chester and Alliene Smith Danley. Rachel graduated Lafayette Jefferson High School and on July 11, 1943 she married Dale Roudebush in Lafayette and he preceded her in death on July 6, 1974. Rachel worked in the Tippecanoe County Assessors office for 15 years and retired in 1986. She was a member of the First Christian Church and the Age Doesn’t Matter group at the church. Rachel enjoyed bible study, reading, yard work and cards. She had been a Girl Scout leader and Girl Scout Camp Director. Surviving are her children Connie (Larry) Schultz, Judy (Bob) Yost all of Lafayette; 5 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Also surviving is her brother John Danley of Indianapolis. Rachel was preceded in death by her sisters Marilyn Kemble and Helen Danley. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:30 am on Saturday at the First Christian Church. Service will be at 11:30 am on Saturday at the First Christian Church, Rev. Greg Eberhard officiating. Interment will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park. Memorial Contributions may be made to: First Christian Church Missionary Fund.
