Beloved husband and father of Abbi and Ryder McDole. Cherished son of Mike & Ali McDole and April & Jeff Oberlander. Loving brother of Alexa, Gwenna, Nick McDole, and Jett Oberlander. Adored grandson of Denny & Debbie McDole and Fred & Sandy Letson. Treasured great grandson of Irene & Ole Bob Farmer (dec’d) and Margaret Gibson. All of Lafayette. Payton will be missed everyday by his Uncle Mark McDole, Cousins and numerous wild and crazy friends he considered brothers. Payton was an active industrious young man at an early age. He loved figuring out how things worked and approached projects with enthusiasm. Payton was always available to help family and friends. He had a fetish for his motorcycle riding and various cars, especially Fred’s Dodge Dart! Payton loved guitars and music. He played by ear with Fred’s help and continued to develop that talent. Kid had a golden touch!! Payton was and will be forever the jokester with that crooked smile on his face!

Beyond this tragic loss, we are so proud of Payton for choosing to be an organ donor. His young body will provide gifts to many people in need. Indiana Donor Network honored our Payton with the great respect.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday, February 22, 2021 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Lafayette.

Payton was a wonderful young man. He was loving, a hard worker, and a cut above young men his age. He understood responsibility, respect, and loyalty which are often rare traits for people in their early twenties. We will miss him terribly. Sending love and strength to his family and friends.

I knew Payton for most of my school years. He left a humorous touch in every conversation we ever had. I pray for his family and friends during this time of sorrow.

i remember the first time i met Payton, it was at g’s house and he came over with Ryder and his wife. he was drinking a beer and laughing with his family. i’ll never forget the memories i have of him. even tho there are so little they’re still there don’t worry. :) my condolences to all of you. rest easy Payton. ?
