Patsy Carol Schafer, 85, of Lafayette, passed away at 12:36 am Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at St. Elizabeth East.
She was born December 13, 1930, in Lafayette, to the late Eugene and Alice Dobbins White.
On January 21, 1950 she married Walter Schafer in Lafayette and he survives.
Patsy Carol was a member of St Lawrence Catholic Church and enjoyed working in her flower garden, being outdoors and shopping.
Surviving along with her husband, are two sons, Tim Schafer (Natalie) of West Lafayette and Steve Schafer (Kit) of Brookston, two daughters, Susan Schafer of Lafayette, and Kathleen Lamie (fiancee Keith Barker) of Frankfort; a sister, Gloria Comingore of Oregon and a brother, Jack White (Carol) of Battle Ground. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Matt Schafer (Megan), Katie Sudbury (Michael), Lee Schafer (Ashley) and Andrew Schafer.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marcia Schafer and a sister Corrine Mursch.
Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 pm, with Rosary service at 4:45 pm on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, July 8th at St Lawrence Catholic Church with Fr. Stephen Duquaine officiating. Entombment will follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
Those wishing may contribute in Patsy’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society.
