Oscar Allen Bussell, 61 from Rogersville, Alabama unexpectedly passed away on October 8, 2013. Oscar was born in Middlesboro, Kentucky to his late parents, Oscar Bussell and Jerusha Blanche Ely. He was a U.S. Army Veteran with active service in Korea. He later served in the U.S. Army Reserves as a Staff Sergeant. He was employed with Civil Service for nine years and retired after twenty seven years from Caterpillar. Oscar is survived by his wife Belinda Bussell, Daughter Rebecca Bussell, Granddaughter Kiersti Bussell, and many loving brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends and extended family. Oscar was a devoted, loving, cherished, “AWESOME” man, who went out with his boots on. Oscar was a care giver in his own special way; he took care of people, made sure they were happy and he loved it. That's who he was, a compassionate man with infectious friendliness. He touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed. He enjoyed Harley riding, boating, 4 wheeling, fishing, taking in a good western movie, and watching the sunrise above the Tennessee River while he drank his coffee. He was so happy enjoying his retirement in Alabama. Funeral Services are scheduled at Soller Baker Funeral Home 400 Twyckenham Blvd Lafayette, Indiana with Rev Don Ely officiating. Viewing is Wednesday, October 16th from 5pm-8pm with services Thursday, October 17th at 10am. Pallbearers are: Jim Bussell Jr., Jimmie Bussell III, Keith Bussell, Kurtis Bussell, Troy Bussell, Thomas Merriott, Mike Louriero, and Luke Sickbert. He will be laid to rest at Fairhaven Cemetery in Mulberry, Indiana.
