Norma Jean Koning, 72, of Lafayette, died at 8:28 p.m. Sunday, November 18, 2012, at her residence.
She was born July 4, 1940, in Tell City, to the late LeRoy and Hettie Mosby Haney.
She graduated from Frankfort High School in1958.
Norma had worked at St. Elizabeth Central the past 15 years most recently in guest services.
She was a member of Dayton United Methodist Church, Order of Eastern Star, and enjopyed reading, crocheting, music traveling and people.
Surviving are two daughters, Janet Reynolds (husband: Charles), of West Point and Nancy Walker, of Lafayette; a son, Keith Newhart (wife: Susan), of Guthrie, Okla.; a brother, Buford Haney (wife: Margo), of Kansas City, Mo.; six grandchildren, Andrew, Andrea, Stephen, Joseph, Robert and Matthew; a great-grandchild, Adelyn; a former step-son, Mike Koning (wife: Kim); and thier son, Michael Jr. and former son-in-law, Victor Walker.
She was preceded in death by an infant son Michael Newhart.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday November 23, 2012, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel 400 Twyckenham Boulevard, Lafayette, IN 47909. Funeral Service 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 24 at Dayton United Methodist Church 7201 Wesleyan Dr. Dayton, IN 47941; Pastor Earl Owen officiating. Burial will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort.
