Nancy M. Lovejoy

Nancy Marie Burns Lovejoy 85 of Dayton, TX., formerly of Lafayette passed away Monday September 11, 2017 in her residence. Born in Lafayette to the late Otto and Alma Kesterson Burns.

She married her friend and husband Royal E. Lovejoy of 59 years May 8th 1949. He passed away on February 17, 2009.        

Nancy began her career working and caring for children at Home Hospital in 1957 where she worked for 28 years in the Pediatric unit until her retirement in 1995.

 She enjoyed Reading her Bible spending time with the Lord, Arts & Crafts, baking, sewing, family gatherings and most of all watching her grandchildren & great grandchildren grow. She loved the daily talk of knowing their grades and sports activities.

Nancy was a beloved mother, grandmother and friend to all!  she always had a smile, and a heart full of love to give! She kept her lord and Savior close at heart and applied this to her daily life.

Surviving are brother Kenneth Otto Burns, sister Ruth Lockwood both of Lafayette. Daughter Brenda Lee, son Royal Lovejoy Jr. (wife Bertha), son Timothy Lovejoy (wife Connie), daughter Diane Foster (husband Ronald), all of Houston Tx., 9 grandchildren, & 20 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild. She was a true inspiration and will be deeply missed.

Nancy Marie is proceeded in death by son- in- law Buddy Lee, two brothers, 2 Sisters & 2 great grandchildren. Visitation Sunday September 17, 2017 from 4:00-6:00PM Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel.
