Nancy Vanderipe of Lafayette, formerly of Terre Haute, passed away Sunday January 26, 2025, at Saint Anthony’s Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Lafayette. She was born January 10, 1939, to the late Edward L. Grace and the late Kathleen Winton Grace of Terre Haute. Her first marriage was to Thomas R Gardner, father of her three girls. She is survived by her second husband Robert E. Vanderipe whom she married on June 23, 1979.
Nancy graduated from Wiley High School in Terre Haute, class of 1957. She went on to study at Indiana State College and Purdue University. She worked with her father at the Ed Grace Company and Steamco Supply where she served as secretary treasurer for both companies. Nancy and her husband Bob implemented the first computerized inventory system for Steamco Supply. Nancy was a member of grace Lutheran Church, and a member of CASA (Construction Affiliated Sisterhood Association).
Nancy enjoyed home decorating, loved traveling, especially vacationing at her home in Fort Myers, FL that she and her husband Bob purchased and renovated. She loved spending time with her loving husband Bob, her children and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She was kind-hearted and loving to all that knew her. She had a quick wit and didn’t know a stranger. Over the last year at Saint Anthony’s, she was known as fancy “Fancy Nancy” as she was always a trend setter.
Surviving along with her husband Bob are her children Sherri (Denny) Crandall, Michelle (Brian) Harner, Nicole (Brett) Sanders, and Rick (Gigi) Vanderipe, 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her stepsons David Vanderipe and Steven Vanderipe. Services will be held at Sollar-Baker Funeral Home at 400 Twykenham Blvd. with visitation from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM and services at 1 PM, Friday, January 31, 2025, followed by the burial at Rest haven Memorial Park at 1200 Sagamore Pkwy. N, Lafayette.
