Nancy is the daughter of Robert C. and Alberta Ann (Sturgeon) Ritenour, both deceased.
Nancy married Sam A. Johnston Aug. 29, 1964, in the Pine Village Christian Church. Nancy and Sam have two daughters, Heidi L., (friend: Tim Owen), Barbra A. (husband: Dennis Balensiefer), and a son, Sam A. II (wife: Joelda).
Nancy graduated from Pine Village High School (1963), Indiana State University (1967), and has a Masters Degree from Purdue University in education and counseling (1977). Nancy retired from Lafayette School Corp, Sunnyside Middle School (2001).
She is survived by a brother, James R. Ritenour, of Dunnellon, Fla., and an Aunt, Phyllis Lecklitner, of Port Charlotte, Fla.
Nancy is also survived by several grandchildren, Samantha and Jake Johnston, Gunther and Daisy Balensiefer, José Murillo, Tiffany Cook, Brittany Cook and Tyson and Leah Coon.
The family will receive guests from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2012, at Soller-Baker West Lafayette Chapel, 1184 Sagamore Parkway West. Memorial contributions may be given to the Pine Village Christian Church P. O. Box 41 Pine Village, IN 47975.
