MoraDell Andrews, 87
MoraDell Andrews, 87, of Lafayette, died at 8:45 a.m. Monday, Oct. 11, 2010, at St. Elizabeth East.
Born Jan. 31, 1923, in Bloomfield, she was the daughter of the late Andrie and Dorothy Baker Ledgerwood. She graduated from Knightstown High School in 1940.
On March 6, 1943, she married William B. Andrews in Greeley, Colo., and he preceded her in death on Oct. 12, 2004.
Mrs. Andrews had worked for the Tippecanoe County Commissioners since 1972, retiring as administrative assistant.
She was a member of Romney United Methodist Church, where she was active in Women?s Group and served as treasurer/secretary, Bible study teacher and Sunday school superintendent.
She was also a member of the Republican Women?s Club, Eagles Auxiliary, Johnson Rag Dance Club and REAC. She enjoyed ballroom dancing, reading and listening to books on tape.
Surviving are son, Dennis Andrews (wife: Carolyn), and a daughter, Susan Whitehead (husband: David), both of Lafayette.
Also surviving are grandchildren, Angela Capper (husband: Doug), Christina Yeager (husband: Dan), Neil Whitehead (wife: Michelle) and Molly Whitehead; and great-grandchildren, Jenna Gerth, Drew Yeager, Payton Yeager, Guy Yeager and Leah Whitehead. She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Ledgerwood.
Visitation 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Service 10 a.m. Friday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, Pastor Chester Tague Jr. officiating.
