Mildred L. Goode, 92, of Lafayette, formerly of Speedway, died at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010, at her residence.
Born May 26, 1918, in Crawfordsville, she was the daughter of the late Austin and Nellie Lynn Sicks. She attended Waynetown High School.
On Dec. 24, 1937, she married Hollie C. Goode in Waynetown, and he died Jan. 6, 1981.
Mrs. Goode worked for L.S. Ayres in downtown Indianapolis as a manager for 27 years before retiring in 1978. She was a member of Speedway CHristian Church and enjoyed caring for her home and family, as well as traveling.
Surviving are two daughters, Carolyn Kanehe and Marilyn Richardson (husband: Don), both of Lafayette; and a sister, Helen Timmons of Crawfordsville.
Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, Debbie Schneider (husband: Mike), Melinda Pletcher (husband: Steve), David Richardson (wife: Tanya), Sherry Hession (husband: Tom) and Diane Boener (husband: Rich); and 9 great-grandchildren Lauren, Shelby, Stephie, Rachael, Carly, Karas, Ethan, Kassie and Megan. Mildred was preceded in death by a brother, Buford; and an infant brother and sister.
Visitation will be 1 hour prior to a 2 p.m. service Friday, Sept. 17, 2010, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Lafayette, IN 47909, with Rev. Greg Eberhard officiating. Interment will follow at 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 17, 2010, at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Whitestown.
