Mildred L Byers, 94, of Lafayette, died at 11:10 p.m Friday, May 6, 2011, at Parkwood Health Care Center in Lebanon.
She was born Aug. 1, 1916, in Covington, to the late Ralph and Alice Howard Osborn.
She married R. Harold Byers in 1936 in Fowler. He preceded her in death in 1973.
Mrs. Byers was a floral deisgner at Wright Flowers and Williams Florists in Lafayette for 20 years, retiring in 1978. She and her husband also farmed in the West Point area. She was a member of West Point United Methodist Church.
Surviving are one daughter, Brenda L. Engler of Carmel; one son, Robert H Byers (wife: Janice) of Thorton, Colo., and a sister, Ruth Trott of Lafayette.
Also survivng are five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 5-7 p.m. Friday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel. Funeral Service will be at 10 a.m Saturday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel. Rev. Jeff Smith officiating. Burial will be at West Point Cemetery. Those wishing may contribute to the West Point United Methodist Church or People First Home Care and Hospice, 2415 Directors Row, Suite C, Indianapolis, 46241.
