Dear Amy,

I talked to Tom Gregg today and just learned about Mike&s passing from him. Our families thoughts and prayers are with you. I want you to know that Mike was always an inspiration to me because he was someone who was a super athlete, super intelligent, and most of all a super father who had strong family values and ethics. Along with all of that he was very humble. Those are characteristics every father aspires to have but most fall way short of his level. He always had a way of being positive and saying just the right things to make a friend feel better. I am sure he has passed those awesome traits on to Brett and Ashley and they are blessed for that.

I will look forward to playing basketball with him again one day when the """"Longnecks"""" are reunited in Heaven.

Congratulations to Brett on his graduation from Purdue. I know you are all very proud.

Our Love to Your Family,
Tom, Kelly, Blake, and Evan Trusty

I just heard about Mike, I am so sorry for everyone&s loss.

When I think about Mike I remember:
His smile, love of sports, love of school (I think he always had perfect attendance not to mention his grades!)his moped, he was always responsible, and he always made his parents proud of him. I am happy to have so many good memories of him.

I wish I could find the words that could take away your pain. My heart and prayers go out to all of you.

Amy, Ashley & Brett,

First I want to send out our sincerest sympathies to all of you. Your family and Mine have been close since Ashley and Tristan started softball as little ones. I wish there was something I could say or do to take your pain and feeling of loss away. Ashley and Brett, I know what you are going through and it is extremely tough, but with time it does get a little easier to deal with. I am so sorry I could not attend the services, but I am hoping Stacey told you I was ill and unable to come. Please know that if any of you ever need anything at all, please do not hesitate to contact me at anytime and I will do whatever I can. This is a time, that you need to lean on the people that care about you and trust me, having people there makes it a lot easier, so remember that and take advantage of it. Just know, how much he loved you and how very proud of his Kids he was, that was always very apparent. Hold those memories close to you. Again, my heart goes out to each and everyone of you and I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers!

All our Love,
Kim & Brayden

To the family of Mike,

As you know i knew Mike a long time and bonded w/ him quickly. Mike was one of those guys who didn&t have to be like everyone to get along. Amy, hopefully you cherish the great times you guys had and let the kids know my blessings are w/ him.

I&m sorry i couldn&t make it up but I was out of town when I heard the news of the funeral. I certainly wish i could have said my goodbyes although it has been a long time since i last saw you guys. The memories of all the games at Shadeland and the other place still linger and I still talk about those days w/ Skip.

Hopefully the Lord keeps you in his prayers.

I can only offer that you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Amy, Brett, Ashley and the entire Courtney family:

I&m so sorry to here about Mike. I wish I had some wonderfully wise words to ease your heartache, but what words can do that. I hadn&t seen you guys in what seems like a hundred years, but after runnning into you in March, I was reminded of what a kind person Mike always was in high school, as well as many years of softball memories with Amy. To Ashley and Brett, your dad graduated with my sister... He and Marnie were in a competition for years to be valedictorian of their 1985 class... I don&t remember for sure, but I think they shared that honor. He was a few years older than me, but I remember him well. He was a really good guy in high school and I&m certain he grew to be a really good man and father to you. When I ran into him Indianapolis in March, it was obvious how proud he was of both of you and that he really enjoyed watching and supporting both of you in your numerous athletic endeavors. I played softball with you mom and Aunt Deanna from the time we could walk and also graduated with your Uncle Tom. My heart aches for all of you. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Amy,Brett, Ashely Lou, Martie, Tommy, Kris

I am sure I missed spelled Martie and Kris names.

So sorry to here about the loss of Mike. I was surprised to hear Mike was sick. When I saw the picture that was posted, that was the way I remembered Mike. Always with a smile and a special funny laugh.

I remember playing baseball against him at Cunningham Little league and Babe Ruth. Mike was a competitor and was bound and determined to win. Mike would get more upset with himself for the giving 200% when his team lost.
Mike always did well in school and we always told him not to do that well on the test so the curve would be a little higher for the people not as smart as him.

Knowing Mike he fought to the very end to beat the illness.

My prayers and condonlences are with your family.

We are so extremely saddened and sorry to hear of Mike&s passing. I remember Mike as a quite leader with a great sense of humor. I was always impressed with his composure in all situations and enjoyed my summer coaching under him with the Magic. It was obvious that he was a great husband, father, and overall person.

I know it&s been a long time since we have connected, but we&ve enjoyed following the kids successes from afar and we wish you all the best, especially during these tough times.

We will continue to keep you all in our thoughts and prayers.

Amy, Brett and Ashley,

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. It seems likely only yesterday that Mike and I were coaching together at East Tipp. I first met Mike while working at Alcoa and I knew from the start that he was a good person. It was the time I spent with him at the baseball fields that made me aware of just how special he was.

Dear Amy, Brett and Ashley,
We are so sorry for your loss and are praying for peace and comfort in the coming days. Mike was such a gentle, sweet guy. We enjoyed spending time with him and your family with all the sports our gals participated in over the years. He was a wonderful father and friend to many as well as a great coach. Mike fought the cancer battle well, always smiling and even conversive when it was difficult for him to do so. He will be greatly missed!
Love and sympathy to the entire family,
