Meri Ellen Preuss

Meri Ellen Cripe Preuss Meri was born in LaPorte, IN, February 14, 1950 and was a 30 year resident of Lafayette, IN. She was the beloved wife of Jerry Preuss, DDS, whom she married November 4, 1972. Meri was active in Central Presbyterian Church and Circle 13, and was a Board Member of YWCA and Family Promise. She found pleasure in her children, grandchildren and friends. Meri enjoyed vacationing and travel with friends and family, particularly to Chicago, California and New York. She was extremely fond of Lake Michigan and spent many summers there. She enjoyed having coffee with her good friends before heading to the barn for a Dressage Lesson with her horse, Brina, and appreciated her friendship with the girls at the barn. Meri often expressed her gratitude to the staff of IU Medical Center and her brother, Dr. Larry Cripe, for their excellent care and devotion to her well-being and comfort. She was affiliated with Shook Agency for 15 years. She is predeceased by her parents, Robert and Helen Cripe; sister, Berdee Cripe Lanie, and nephew, Brian John Lanie. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Preuss, DDS; son, Matthew Preuss (Ryan Marie), Rossmoor, CA; daughter, Jennifer Preuss Fabianski (Frank), Downers Grove, IL; sisters Llani Cripe O'Connor, Sarah Sentman, Nancy Hobt and Melissa Hahn, and brother, Larry Cripe. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to YWCA Women's Cancer Program, 605 N. 6th St., Lafayette, IN 4790l. Please indicate in memory of Meri Ellen Preuss on the memo line. Memorial visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel. Memorial service is 11 a.m. Saturday at Central Presbyterian with Rev. Jeff Cover officiating. Those desiring to eulogize Meri will have the opportunity to do so at the memorial service.
