Meghana Usha Vinayak Ranade, 66, of West Lafayette, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011, at her residence after a year-long illness.
She was born on April 29, 1944, in Kalyan, India. She studied at Balmohan Vidya Mandir and received a B.A. degree from Ruia and Ruparel Colleges, Bombay University. She also received an associate degree from College of Lake County.
She married Vinayak Vasant Ranade on Aug. 27, 1964, and he survives.
Mrs. Ranade was a computer programmer/systems analyst and retired from CVS/Caremark in Northbrook, Ill.
Surviving with her husband is her daughter, Tanuja Sheth (husband: Ketan Sheth).
Also surviving are three granddaughters, Saiya, Sejal and Kaveri Sheth.
In lieu of donations, it was the wish of Meghana Ranade that each person celebrate her life by doing one good deed. That good deed can be personal, private or shared. It can be simple, or grand, but should reflect the idea that one should always be helpful toward your fellow person. A private family funeral is planned.
