Max E. Darling, 76, of Lafayette died Monday, September 7, 2015 at Creasy Springs Health Campus. He was born March 15, 1939, in Lafayette to the late Melvin and Alice Rohler Darling. Max graduated from Baldwin Park High School, Baldwin Park, CA and served in United States Navy and Marine Corps. On March 4, 1960 he married Myrna Marshall in Riverside, CA and she survives. Max was an Officer on the Lafayette Police Department for 20 years retiring 1990. He had also had worked for Lafayette Life Insurance Company for 10 years. He was a member of the FOP Arman Lodge #49 and the Eagles. Max enjoyed painting, reading, football and playing Wii games. Surviving along with his wife is his daughter Christy Fulk (Glenn) of West Lafayette, grandchildren Brandon, Christopher and Douglas Fulk and Belinda Mullins, great granddaughters Jazzy and Camy Mullins, brothers Charles Darling (Linda) of Bear Springs, CA, Clifford Darling (Colena Burge) of Lafayette and a sister Lori Hart of West Lafayette. Also surviving is a sister-in-law Linda Darling of CA, a brother-in-law George Kyger of Thorntown, 13 nieces and nephews, 30 great nieces and nephews and his cat Sheba. Max was preceded in death by a son Dale Darling, a sister Etta Mae Kyger, a brother Bruce Darling and a brother-in-law Clay Hart. Visitation will be 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Service will be 10:00 AM Saturday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, Rev. J. William Overbay officiating. Interment will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. Those wishing may contribute to the FOP Arman Lodge #49 in Max's memory.
