Praying for peace and comfort for the entire Helmerick family. While Matt may be pulling off pranks with Jesus, rest assured that his presence on earth will continue through the legacy that he’s left. And, I’m sure that we’ll all experience those practical jokes from time to time. In the meantime, “Give Heaven some Hell” Matt

To the family of Matt. We are so sorry to hear of Matt's passing. He was such a strong person battling cancer for SO many years and trying so many trials to maybe help him and many others. Our families go back so many years between the Helmrick, Mcglotholin family and the Short family. Matt being such a joker, he will be very very missed. Hugs, love and prayers for all of you..... Very special individual. Matt and I reconnected at the JHS Athletic Birdie Bash. Really enjoyed talking with him and catching up. He really enjoyed the game of golf and was enthusiastic about playing in the fundraiser!!! Will be missed and may a special blessing of comfort be with his family.
Carla Redding left a message on February 18, 2025:
Matt has been our neighbor for 11 years. He was the kindest and generous man. He always was there when we needed him. He would watch our dogs when we were gone and loved on them all the time. He and Barry joked all the time, they were just alike. I can’t tell you how much we will miss him. We are out of state right now and sadly we will not be able to attend his service, which breaks our hearts. We will love on his wife Rose and be there for her in any need she may have. We love you Matt and you will always be remembered.
