Maryann Dunst, 76, of Lafayette, died at 10:57 a.m. Tuesday Dec. 28, 2010, at St. Elizabeth East hospital.
She was born Aug. 27, 1934, in Freeport, Ill., to the late Samuel and Mary Wiedenhoft Smith, and graduated from Aquin High School in Freeport. She also graduated from St. Marys College School Nursing in Dubuque, Iowa.
On Oct. 5, 1957, she married William Dunst in Freeport, and he survives.
She was a registered nurse who worked in Freeport, Maywood, Ill., Battle Creek, Mich., Marin and Sonoma counties in California. Mrs. Dunst enjoyed crocheting, sewing, cooking and shopping.
Surviving along with her husband are her children Deborah Resnick (husband: Jeff) of Chalmers, Laura Dunst of Santa Rosa, Calif., John Dunst (wife: Vickey) of Meridianville, Ala., and Samuel Dunst of Lafayette; sisters, Betty Milota (husband: Leo) of Bensenville, Ill., Joan Schramm (husband: Robert) of Ottawa, Ill., Claire Vohlken (husband: David), Emma Osterfeld and Sarah “”Sally”” Smith, all of Rensselaer.
Also surviving are 6 grandchildren Scott Stadt, Katie Hardesty, Angeline Haggard, Jason Stadt, Selenia Dunst and Micah Resnick; 2 great-grandchildren, Christian and Brooklyn Willingham.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. A brief service will be held immediately following the visitation, with Fr. Thomas Milota officiating. Those wishing may contribute to the American Heart Association.
