On Sunday November 21, 2021, Mary Kressley Wastl, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend passed away at age 98. A beautiful day to join her family and friends in heaven.

Mary was born on March 28, 1923, in Rossville, Indiana to the late Goldie & Clyde Kressley. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church.

On August 24, 1943, she married Max E. Wastl in Lafayette and he preceded her in death on January 31, 1990. Max & Mary had Lafayette Instrument Company in Lafayette, Indiana.

Mary spent much of her life raising her family on Thise Court however, she spent the last several years at Creasy Springs where she received loving care. She enjoyed old friends who came to visit and also made new friends.

Mary was a huge sports fan. She followed all Purdue football and basketball games. Mary was an avid golfer and also enjoyed bowling.

Mary enjoyed all holidays, especially Christmas. She would decorate with a tree & lights and sit back and enjoy them. But mostly she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Mary is survived by her daughters Sharon (Bob) Pritchard, and Shirley (Alan sr.) Riggs and son, Mark (Jane) Wastl. Her grandchildren Brian Pritchard, Jill Pritchard, Alan Riggs jr., Todd Sparger, Matt Sparger, Kurt Wastl, Nicole Rainford, Ryne Wastl and Alaina Wastl. She had 14 great-grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, her son Max Wastl jr., daughter Maxine White, granddaughter Lauren Wastl, grandson David Riggs, as well as 5 brothers and 7 sisters.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Monday November 29, 2021, at Soller-Baker Funeral Home, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Lafayette. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 pm on Monday, November 29, 2021, at St. Boniface Church, 318 N. 9^th St. Lafayette, IN 47904 with Fr. Jeff Martin officiating. Burial will follow at St. Boniface Cemetery.

Donations in Mary’s name may be sent to, Lauren Wastl Memorial Scholarship Fund in care of West Lafayette H.S. Foundation. Or to The Max Wastl, Sr. Equipment Fund Endowment in the Department of Health and Kinesiology at Purdue University. Please make checks payable to Purdue Foundation and indicate on the check that your donation is to be directed to The Max Wastl, Sr. Endowment and mail to Purdue Foundation, 403 W. Wood Street, West Lafayette, IN 47906

When I find myself in times of trouble, Mother Mary comes to me, speaking words of wisdom, let it be. Rest In Peace

I'm so glad I got to know Mary I enjoyed her sense of humor and talking to her I will miss her

Long was my life long is my rest to take me home God thought is best. I’ll always remember Mary because at the Elks she’s Always had her hair up in curlers while we played in the nine hole group on Wednesday evening. Take care and love you all.

Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Oh Shirley--so sorry to learn of your loss of your mom. She was always such a bright light with her smile. Will always remember how kind and loving she was whenever I was at your home. What fun memories. Mary was one of my mother's favorite cousins. Prayers and comforting thoughts for you and your family.

What a wonderful picture that brings back so many great memories of life on Thise Court. Mary was always so inviting and upbeat. Great memories of bowling trips, golf conversations, Purdue game discussions, trips to the lake,etc. A wonderful long life well lived! We had so many fun years on Marco Island. Mary and Max were great hosts. Prayers for the family. She will be missed.
