Mary Martha Eddy, 76, of West Lafayette, passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at Franciscan health East in Lafayette.  She was born in Madison, IN, to the late John and Dorothy (Cassidy) Eddy.

Mary Martha graduated from West Lafayette High School in 1963 and Purdue University in 1967 and later received a masters degree in education

She was a career teacher with Tippecanoe County School Corp at Hersey and Klondike Elementary,  and Battle Ground Middle school.

She was an avid reader, always with a book in hand, a member of the John Purdue Club and an avid follower of Purdue Athletics.  Mary Martha enjoyed playing bridge with her friends known as the Dixie Chicks.  She cherished her friendships and valued them greatly.  Her love of teaching was also expressed by volunteering at Lafayette Adult Resource Center teaching english as a second language. She delighted working with Purdue international students refining their English skills.  Mary Martha loved to travel and was always curious about the places and people she visited traveling often on Purdue Alumni trips.  She  loved nature and animals, always sharing her life with a beloved pet.

A opportunity to share your memories and Love for Mary Martha, whether a family member, colleague, former student or one of her fabulous friends, will be held at Soller-Baker West Lafayette Chapel, 1184 Sagamore Parkway West at 10:00 AM Tuesday October 19^th until 11:00 am.  Our desire is to lovingly and kindly remember Mary Martha and her life well lived!

Mary Martha is survived by her sister Sarah Eddy Harnett of Los Altos Hills, CA.  Mary Martha was preceded in death by her brother John Ray Eddy.
