Fritz Shorter (grandson) left a message on January 19, 2022:
Grandma Shorter had a gracefulness in her heart that touched everyone she met. She gave the world exponentially more than she took and found fault in no person. She was sharp as a tack, quick witted with humor, yet always dignified. She always led conversations away from herself and focused her sincere interest on you. Perhaps her greatest legacy was how she modestly raised nine children, each of which carried a strong work ethic, respect for others, and high integrity.

My prayers go out to the Family. I will miss the talks with Aunt Mary. Her voice always reminded me of her sister (my mother) Helen Parker Hassler. She will be greatly missed.
