Mary Lou Donahoe passed on Sunday, January 5th, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Born January 20th, 1933, in Earl Park to the late Clarence and Anna (Quinn) Donohue. She was a graduate of Sheldon High School in 1951 and St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in 1954. She married Francis P Donahoe January 14, 1956, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Earl Park. He preceded her in death on September 5, 2007.
She spent 22 years in the healthcare field; working her first two years at St Elizabeth hospital. She returned to work in 1971, once her children were all in school. She worked for the late Dr John T Burns for 17 yrs, The Family Practice Center, the late Dr JJ Onorato, the late Dr RW Kohne, and St Anthony Healthcare, retiring in 1996.
She was a member of The Cathedral of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception, the Legion of Mary, and the Altar Rosary Society. She was a volunteer of Caregiver Companions, St. E Alumni Association, and a former parish nurse. She loved her faith, family, and friends. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and making rosaries.
Surviving are three sons, Patrick (wife Holley), Daniel, Francis Jr (wife Carrie), and daughter, Kathleen Hunley (husband Luke), sister, Jane Anne Murray, two sisters-in-law, Bonnie Donahoe and Phyllis Donohue. Also surviving are grandchildren, Myles Hunley (fiancée Katie Galvin), Claire Hunley, Joey Donahoe, Morgan Donahoe, Kevin Donahoe, and Riley Donahoe, great grandchildren, Francis, Vance, and Lainey. Four nieces and 6 nephews also survive. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, and son Timothy, three brothers, William Donohue, Robert Donohue, and Cyril Donohue, brothers-in-law, Jack Murray, Edward Donahoe, and Jerry Ramey. Four sisters-in-law Arlene Bennett Donohue, Joan Ramey, Joyce Avery Donohue, Ellaretta Ziemer, and niece Carol Donohue Watt.
Visitation will be in The Cathedral of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception on Tuesday January 14th from 9:30-10:30 am, followed by the rosary. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 am. Interment at St Mary Cemetery. Memorials to Central Catholic Spirit Fund or The Cathedral of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception.
