Mary Lorene Stichter, 90, of Lafayette, died at 3:20 p.m. Monday, May 2, 2011 at Regency Place.
Born Feb. 14, 1921, in Stockwell, she was the daughter of the late Earl E. and Mary Susan Roudebush Stichter. She graduated from Monitor High School in 1939.
She worked in shipping and receiving at Alcoa for 40 years, retiring in 1983.
She was a member of Brown Street United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir for several years, and a member of Alcoa Retirees. She enjoyed traveling, gardening and basketball.
Surviving are two brothers, Donald E. Stichter (wife: Kay) of Lafayette and Jim Stichter of Grants Pass, Ore.; and a sister, Shirley Huddleston of Casa Grande, Ariz.
Preceded in death by 2 sisters, Betty Reifert and Dorothy Bremer.
A memorial service will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at Brown Street United Methodist Church, 905 Brown St., Lafayette 47904 with Rev. Bruce Mowery officiating. In lieu of flowers those wishing may contribute to the Brown Street United Methodist Church.
