? Mary K. Ray, 95, of West Point, died at 4:22 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010, at St. Elizabeth Central.
Born Dec. 11, 1914, in Wallace, she was the daughter of the late James and Treva Rice Collins. She graduated from Wallace High School in 1934.
On June 12, 1936, she married Ralph E. Ray in Attica, and he died Feb. 22, 1987.
Mrs. Ray enjoyed sewing, making quilts for her daughters and grandchildren, crocheting, word puzzles, bowling, canning and giving away vegetables out of her garden, square and round dancing, reading her Bible and spending time with her family. In her younger days, she was known for her three-layer chocolate cake.
Surviving are four daughters, Joan Knowles Pass (husband: Harry) of Lafayette, Lorane Eberle (husband: John) of Delphi, Loretta VanSickle (husband: Dave) of Roachdale and Carolyn Smith (husband: Don) of Monticello.
Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved. Mary was preceded in death by a daughter, Delores Burk on April 15, 2010; 6 sisters and 7 brothers.
Visitation 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Lafayette, IN 47909. Service 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 24, 2010, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, with her grandson, Shannon Ivers, officiating. Interment will follow at West Point Cemetery.
