Mary Jo Long, 75
Mary Jo Long, 75, of Lafayette, died at 4:40 p.m. Monday, July 19, 2010, at Rosewalk Village.
Born March 16, 1935, in Daleville, she was the daughter of the late Ray G. and Pearl Broshears McKinnis. She graduated from Colfax High School in 1953.
On Sept. 3, 1954, she married Donald B. Long in Colfax, and he survives.
Mrs. Long was member of Dayton United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing cards, gardening, reading, camping, IU basketball, motorcycle touring, and her dog. She especially enjoyed her family and her grandchildren.
Surviving with her husband are a daughter, Jan King (husband: Jim) of Lafayette; two sons, Gary Long of Conway, S.C., and Randy Long (wife: Janice) of Rossville; and a sister, Doris Harrington of Thorntown.
Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, Joshua Martin (wife: Lindsey), Andrew Long, Jeremy Martin (wife: Meghan), Adam Long, Abigayl Long, Aron Long and Sara Long; 2 stepgrandchildren, Kaitlyn Houchin and Kassidie Houchin; and her dog, Mandy. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Dale McKinnis and R. Harold McKinnis.
Visitation 5-8 p.m. Thursday, July 22, 2010, at Dayton United Methodist Church, 7303 Wesleyan Drive, Dayton, IN 47941. Service 10 a.m. Friday, July 23, 2010, at Dayton United Methodist Church, the Rev. Michael Dominick officiating. Interment at Plainview Cemetery, Colfax.
