Mary Helen Bachman, 83, of Lafayette, IN passed away peacefully Sunday, October 15, 2017 at Creasy Springs in Lafayette, IN. She was born January 22, 1934 in Amarillo, TX to the late Raymond and Bernice Brooks. She was married for 63 years to Robert L. Bachman, who survives.

Mary loved people and was very active in her church, White Oak Presbyterian in Senoia, GA prior to moving back to Lafayette. Mary was always cooking delicious food or reading and loved being with her family. Her passion was serving Christ and helping others. Mary didn’t know a stranger and brought love and compassion to all who met her. Thank you to all those who showed kindness and loved Mary at Creasy Springs.

Survivors include her husband, Robert L. Bachman, sister, Jean Ann Steffenson of Colorado (husband Virgil), two children, Vicky Holt (husband Gregg) and Ray Bachman (wife Sheri) of Senoia, GA, four grandchildren, Ryan Holt, Jenna White (husband Kenny) of New Palestine, IN, Trevor Bachman of Athens, GA, Sarah Bachman of Senoia, GA, two step-grandchildren, JT Schroeder (wife Jenny, children Colton and Kyleigh) of Alpharetta, GA, Laura Corbin (husband Evan, children Mason and Wyatt) of Easley, SC, and the joy of her life, great granddaughter Zoe White. She was preceded in death by her sister Francis Frame of Lake Kiowa, TX.

Contributions can be made in Mary’s honor to Diabetes Youth Foundation of Indiana, 5050 East 211th St, Noblesville, IN 46062. Services will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Soller-Baker Funeral Home, 400 Twyckenham Blvd, Lafayette, IN 47909. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. with service immediately following. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery in Attica, IN.
