Martha A. Stackhouse Lehman 96 of Battle Ground passed away at St Anthony Health Care on Tuesday Jan. 20, 2015. Martha A. Stackhouse Lehman 96 of Battle Ground passed away at St Anthony Health Care on Tuesday Jan. 20, 2015. She was born July 12, 1918 in Battle Ground to Charles (Jack) and Donola Cowger Stackhouse. Martha graduated from Battle Ground High School in 1936. She also attended Indiana Business College. On January 29, 1939 she married Wilbur D. Lehman who preceded her in death in 2012. Before her marriage Martha worked for a law firm in Lafayette. For most of her life though, Martha was a homemaker and mother. She was a lifetime member of the Battle Ground United Methodist Church. She was also active in the Battle Ground Fire Dept auxiliary. Both Martha and Wilbur were avid Purdue basketball fans. Martha is survived by her two sons Thomas E Lehman wife Donna and Philip D Lehman wife Jackie, both of Battle Ground, grandsons Ronald W Lehman (Diane) and Thomas C Lehman (Michelle) both of Battle Ground, granddaughters Kelly Elder (Mark) of Fishers, Jennifer Lehman (Bob) of Lafayette, and Jody Auberry (Eric) of West Lafayette. She has 11 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. Martha was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters Betty Prough and Margret McConahay. Visitation will be from 10:00 am Saturday until time of service at 11:00 am at Soller-Baker West Lafayette Chapel, 1184 Sagamore Parkway West, Pastor Terry Brammer officiating. Interment will be at Battle Ground Cemetery. Memorials to the Battle Ground United Methodist Church.
