Mark J. Shatava, 42, of West Lafayette, died at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011, at St Mary Hospital, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minn.
He was born July 2, 1969, in Lafayette, the son of the late Joseph Shatava Jr. and Anda Kalnins Shatava Kick, who lives in Minnesoa. He graduated from Harrison High School and Ivy Tech State College.
On July 19, 1997, he married Karen Khatter in West Lafayette, and she survives.
Mr. Shatava had worked for Rea Magnet Wire since 1991.
He enjoyed snowmobiling, golfing, watching sports, and time spent with his family and children.
Surviving with his wife and mother are children, Kelsey and Kadin Shatava, both at home; a sister, Sarma Burnau (husband: Phillip) of Lino Lakes, Minn.
Also surviving are a niece and nephew, Morgan and Blake Burnau.
Visitation will be Saturday 1-4 p.m. Oct. 8, 2011, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel. Funeral service at 4 p.m. Saturday Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel. Burial will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
