Marilyn J. Richey, 87, of West Lafayette, passed away at 11:45 am Thursday, May 29, 2014 at IU Health Arnett. She was born March 28, 1927, in Galesburg, IL, to the late A. G. and Hazel (Mills) Wagle. On October 17, 1954 she married James D. Richey in Peoria, IL. He preceded her in death on October 11, 2011. Marilyn retired from Purdue University after twenty five years as a file clerk in the school of humanities. She also worked as a receptionist at St. Anthony Health Care and was a Pink Lady at Lafayette Home Hospital for several years. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, and enjoyed reading, watching golf and soap operas, was a Chicago Cubs fan and spending time with her cat Jewels. Surviving are three daughters Sharon J. Morrisette (husband Fred) of Longview, IL, Kai Lynch (husband Dale) of Arroyo Grande, CA, Cindy Anderson (husband Jim) of West Lafayette; a son Scott D. Richey (wife Linda) of Rossville and a sister Yvonne Duckworth of West Lafayette. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Soller-Baker West Lafayette Chapel 1184 Sagamore Parkway W. West Lafayette, IN 47906 with Pastor Linda Dolby officiating. Burial will follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. Those wishing may contribute in Marilyn's name to Almost Home Humane Society.
