I had the opportunity to teach with Marilyn in the early 2000’s as a new faculty member. Made my transition to Purdue SON much easier with her guidance. May the Peace of the Lord be with you during this time.
Neil McCreary left a message on September 12, 2024:
Cousin Jim, Randy, Sherry, Julie, Jeff, you have our condolences. I remember when Marilyn & Charlie used to visit us on the farm back in the 50s & 60s. And we saw her at many family reunions over the years. Someone did a great job on that obituary. I learned things I never knew. I am sorry we will be unable to get to Lafayette Sept 12 or 13. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. We hope to see some of you at future Sherry cousins reunions.

Janet Tipton left a message on September 7, 2024:
Dear Sherry, Randy, Julie and Jeff, I don’t have to tell you that your mother was a very special person to very many people in her family and community. I guess I’ve known her for about 50 years—first at Tahoe, then as a chaperone with the Marching Bronchos, and ultimately as my brother’s mother-in-law. I have always admired Marilyn as a very strong woman who gave of herself constantly wherever she was needed. She was there with Bruce during his struggle with cancer and until the very end. As hard as that was for all of us, it was such a comfort to know she was doing all should could for him and explaining his diagnosis and prognosis to the rest of us. Then when my Mother needed a friend and advocate, she was there again for her. Being so far away, it gave me great comfort knowing she was there for Mom. Marilyn’s life and legacy live on in the memories of many of us, but also live on through each of you. Her spirit is eternal. Love to you all as you say your goodbyes. I’m so sorry I can’t be there, but I’m with you in spirit! All my love, Janet
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

E. Linda Jeffries left a message on September 5, 2024:
Dear Bell family: it was my joy and privilege to know Marilyn for so many years. We had wonderful conversations both at Immanuel (while we were working together) and then at lunches we shared over the retirement years. I love her a lot and, although we slowed down on our lunches, I kept in touch and so very much loved phone calls. I will miss her; somehow the world just feels a bit less sunny with her gone. I’m glad you all know how very, very much she loved you all and how proud of all of you she was. God bless you all - he’s already blessing Marilyn in new and beautiful ways. Love, Linda Jeffries
